Description
Stanozolol, commonly found under the names Winstrol (oral) and Winstrol Depot (intramuscular), was developed by Winthrop Laboratories in 1962. Winstrol is a derivative of dihydrotestosterone, but with higher anabolic abilities and reduced androgenic properties. Winstrol is a widely available steroid and is very popular among bodybuilders for its muscle mass gain without the added estrogenic side effects such as water retention. Winstrol is available for both oral and injectable administration, with the injectable preparation being the most widely used in veterinary practice. The injectable preparation is usually a water-based suspension containing 50 mg of steroid per ml. Winstrol is one of those compounds that has a synergistic effect when the oral and injectable versions are combined in the same cycle.
Winstrol drastically reduces the levels of sex hormone binding globulin (HSPG). Also see the Proviron profile to see how it binds to SHBG. Using both of these compounds at the same time will significantly release huge amounts of testosterone that will be actively circulating in the blood. The more free testosterone, the better the activity will be. Winstrol is not aromatised by the body, so there are no estrogenic side effects. Since water retention is a side effect of estrogenic activity, Winstrol gives the figure a slim and defined appearance. This is especially favourable for bodybuilders preparing for competitions.
Stanazolol is primarily an anabolic drug, but androgenic side effects such as oily skin, acne, hair loss and facial/body hair growth can still occur. However, the severity of these side effects will be much less than you would expect from something like Anapolone, for example. This drug is moderately safe for use by women if the dosage is within reasonable limits. Liver toxicity is a problem with Winstrol, as the molecule has been alkylated with17 alpha to prevent the liver from deactivating the compound. However, the use of liver support supplements will significantly reduce the risk of liver damage. It has been suggested that winstrol is less toxic than an equivalent dose of dianabol. It is important to note that even the injectable version of Winstrol is hepatotoxic. The oral dose is usually 20 to 50 mg per day. Injections are often used at a dose of 50 to 100 mg every other day. The use of 21-gauge needles is recommended, as the suspension may block thinner needles during injection. Water-based injectables are notorious for causing injection pain and even abscesses. For this reason, some users resort to drinking a suspension instead, the effect is exactly the same as taking tablets or capsules orally. Winstrol should be combined with other steroids for best results. The effect of this is exactly the same as taking tablets or capsules orally.
