Description
Indications for use
Stanozolol is used in the general deterioration of aplastic anaemia, anorexia, in the recovery period after chronic diseases, operations, burns and fractures, for tissue repair, debilitating diseases, postmenopausal or elderly osteoporosis, protein metabolism disorders with loss of muscle mass and negative nitrogen balance. It is also used in nephrotic syndromes, asthma. It helps to get rid of the catabolic effect of corticosteroids, and as an adjuvant in the treatment of bedsores, osteoporosis. Prophylactic treatment of hereditary angioedema by increasing protein synthesis
In paediatrics it is used for the treatment of growth retardation and underweight, dystrophy and immaturity.
How to use and dosage
Film-coated tablets should be swallowed whole, drinking plenty of water. The drug should not be taken on an empty stomach.
After surgery, burns and fractures, for tissue repair, debilitating diseases: Adults: initially 10 mg orally per day. Maintenance therapy: 2.5 to 5 mg daily.
Nabolic effects: Adults: 10 to 20 mg orally daily.
Severe debilitation: Adults: 10-20 mg orally daily for 3 weeks. After that, reduce to 5-10 mg daily for maintenance.
Contraindication
- Contraindicated in hypersensitivity to stanozolol

- hormone-dependent tumours in men
- active hypercalcaemia and hepatic insufficiency.

- in pregnancy and during lactation
Use with caution in children before puberty, in patients with diabetes mellitus or CHD, in persons taking ACTH, corticosteroids or anticoagulants.
